Batman Begins

A tidbit:
Seeing this movie on opening day, my overall impression is as follows: Batman Begins achieves success on the level of Spider-Man. Not the greatness of Spider-Man 2, nor the complete failure of Hulk and Daredevil. But maybe somewhere in between X-Men and X2, perhaps equal to the latter. Is that enough superhero movie comparisons?

I like Batman Begins. I think Christian Bale is amazing, and more than any previous Batman episode, it grappled with the fundamental questions of what justice is, and how apparent vigilantism is compatible with justice.

Finally, this film brings this story to it original dark beginnings. Not to diss Jack's Joker, but those films where far more "campy" and much less fulfilling the original stories deserved.

I guess you have to be related to a former comic book junky to truly appreciate how good this movie is and how it restores the story line.
